Background
The main aim at the Faculty is to use highly experimental training methods to provide the students with useful training based on a very practical approach of journalism over a relatively short period of time, i.e. two years.

Activities
The Faculty of Journalism offers a highly professional technical and practical education programme:

  • Full-time studies.
  • Individual follow-up of each student.
  • Direct contact with the professional world.
  • Active contact with centres of education and mass media abroad, especially in Europe.
  • Press, radio and television workshops.
The studio is located in the centre of the city of Barcelona allowing students to acquire work experience by covering real events. Simulation of practical work with real events.

Specialised practical work for all students during one term in public mass media. Professional equipment for press, radio and television practical work.

The second cycle comprises six terms divided into two years which are essentially technical and practical. This cycle prepares the student to work in press, radio, television, information agencies and communication departments.

The third cycle is oriented toward obtaining a Ph.D. in journalism or professional postgraduate training. Academic research in journalism.

Foreign students
Only students participating in the Erasmus/Socrates program are accepted at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
