Background
The Akademie fuer Publizistik (AfP) is an institution based in Hamburg, Germany for the education of journalism trainees and for the supplemental education of freelancers and editors.

Activities
Correspondingly the AfP offers two types of seminars: general introductory courses for journalism-trainees and advanced seminars for editors and freelancers in print and online media and television and radio networks.

All courses deal with issues of practical journalism ranging from basic news writing to advanced interviewing techniques, from digital storytelling to the production of complete radio and television programs.

The AfP general introductory courses are open only to trainees in media organizations. Admission to the advanced courses requires several years of experience as a professional journalist.

Foreign students
Though there is no limit on the number of foreign students that are admitted, foreign students must have excellent skills in speaking and writing German.
